Care

Many of our products are sealed with a food grade finish and will withstand some wear and tear, but like any wood product, throughout time you may need to freshen up your piece. Below are a few tips and care procedures for your products.

Salt Cellars:
Salt Cellars should NEVER go in the dishwasher or be submerged under water. Cellars are sealed with  tung oil in case you need to ever reseal. Best practice is to keep the box as clean as possible, but if spills happen, wipe off with a soft sponge or rag immediately. Keep away from direct heat to prevent warping and damage to the cellars.

Sayas:
Sayas should NEVER go in a dishwasher. These are sealed in boiled linseed oil so are somewhat water resistant. The insides are not sealed, so avoid washing unless necessary. Use a damp sponge or rag to wipe off any dirt or food stains.

Knife Racks:
Knife racks should NEVER go in the dishwasher or see any water at all. They are finished in Tung oil and can withstand some water but generally you want to towel dry your knifes and hang them on the rack.

Cutting Boards:
For those of you who purchased a cutting board from us, you can use the board butter we supplied in the order or feel free to use any mineral oil or butcher block oil to keep the wood hydrated. Depending how often you use your board, you may need to moisturize the wood more often. NEVER put in a dishwasher or let soak in water.

To clean your cutting board when you're done, simply rinse off all sides with water and soap if needed a sponge will also be ok on the wood. Towel dry when finished. Leaving wood in water or a sink overnight will greatly increase the chance of your board warping over time.

Charcuterie Boards:
These are finished in a food grade sealer and should NEVER go in the dishwasher. Use a soapy sponge to clean off any food stains, rinse with water and towel dry after. Don't leave these in the sink or soaking water for any reason.
